Quote Checklist

China walking hiking shoes supplier: quote checklist

Make every response answer the same buying question. Separate supplier-confirmed quote lines from buyer estimates and unresolved footwear decisions.

Hiking shoe pre-quote checklist
  1. Lock the size run and construction.
  2. Align pair packaging and freight scope.
  3. Record documents and sample approvals.
Request Comparable Quotes

Map the total cost without filling in unknown prices

Product line

Record currency, pair quantity, upper and outsole specification, size run, colorways and pack ratio. Keep optional substitutions on separate lines. A lower pair price is not comparable if it changes the shoe construction or excludes sizes.

Development line

Ask whether artwork, molded logos, last changes or outsole tooling require charges. Distinguish a sample fee from production costs and identify any proposed credit conditions. Do not assume a custom request uses existing tooling.

Packaging line

Confirm individual boxes, inserts, barcode labels, carton count, carton dimensions and gross weight. An illustrative order of 20 cartons at 12 pairs each equals 240 pairs. This arithmetic is not a factory packing commitment.

Delivery line

Request the trade term, named place, freight scope and exclusions for the US destination. Mark duties, local charges and service costs as quoted, estimated or unresolved. An ex-factory quote and a delivered quote require normalization before comparison.

Compare premium, mid-range and budget proposals against the same mandatory requirements. A target budget must include currency and per-pair or whole-order basis. If the budget cannot cover a requested construction, ask for an explicitly documented alternative instead of a silent substitution.

Four questions before you approve

Buyer questionRequested evidence and limit
Does the size label mean the same fit?Request the supplier size chart and a defined fit sample. US / EU conversion alone does not approve width or internal length across the size run.
Is the weather claim tied to this assembly?Ask for the proposed upper, lining and seam construction and any relevant exact-item test evidence. A material description cannot prove a complete shoe is waterproof.
Does the outsole suit the stated surface?Identify compound and tread requirements, requested test method and conditions. A photo or a report for another model does not establish grip for the quoted shoe.
What starts the production interval?Have the factory identify sample, artwork, payment and material approvals. Target timing remains provisional until the order scope and starting milestone are confirmed.

These are review questions rather than certification or test results. For next steps, open Product Options, read How We Source and the procurement brief.

Send the open questions with your brief

List mandatory construction, size quantities, destination, target timing and your budget basis. Include which sample or exact-item documents need review before a purchasing decision.

Custom Hiking Shoes Sourcing coordinates buyer-side sourcing; factory responses and final approvals remain distinct.
